AIG Mohammed Heads Zone-13 Maiden Departmental Selection Board

The Assistant inspector general of police in charge of the Zone 13 police headquarters; AIG Danmallam Mohammed psc, fdc, today the 17th of November 2020, sits as pioneer chairman of the first ever Departmental selection Board (DSB) held at the newly created Zone-13 Nigeria Police command headquarters.

The departmental selection board (DSB), a highly sensitive process held once in a year and used to ascertain officers legible for promotion was handled with the highest form of precision and attention-to-detail by the AIG Danmallam who in his fondly disciplined nature ensured that all Inspectors present at the Zone for screening had met the laid out criteria of being Inspectors promoted on or before 2014 and confirmed on or before 2016 and had and average of B pass mark, free of any kind of punishment during the time of review and duly signed Aper grading of 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Speaking with ACP Miringa Musa, Assistant commissioner of police in charge of Administration Zone 13, we could get an idea of the high level of discipline to which the whole process was attended to by the Zone.

In his words, “the AIG is a highly disciplined officer. He has made sure everybody here is due for promotion. If you are not due you are not due”

The inspectors on ground were sharply dressed as they partook in the syndicate in preparation to face the board.

Inspector Ekedikwe Christian from Enugu state command; one of the Inspectors waiting to face the selection board who we interviewed, showered praises on the Zone and the AIG for the 5-star treatment they had been given all throughout their stay.

He spoke highly of the hospitality and the serenity of the environment which was a huge part of their experience and had helped in reducing their level of stress as they prepared to face to the board.

One could see officers comfortably sitting or standing as they awaited their turns- a testimony to the high level of comfort they were experiencing.

Sitting at the board along side the AIG and his management team were personnel from Enugu and Anambra state police command notably the commissioner of police Anambra state command, CP John B. Abang and the Commissioner of police Enugu state command, CP Ahmad AbudurRahaman MCPSS, MCJ, MNIM, ably represented by Deputy commissioner of police in charge of Administration state headquarters Awka, DCP Christopher Owolabi and Deputy commissioner of police in charge of Administration Enugu, DCP Emuobo Fred Ekokotu respectively.

The departmental selection board shall evaluate officers for their level of professionalism, knowledge of policing and excellence in the discharge of their duties and a report of the entire process sent to the Inspector General of police; Adamu Mohammed NPM, mni.
