The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has constituted a Caretaker committee in Ebonyi State.
The party constituted the committee to pilot its affairs in the State.
A statement signed by the party National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the committee is headed by Fred Udeogu, with Barrister Luke Nkwegu as Secretary.
APC Reacts As Umahi Officially Dumps PDP
“Following the dissolution of the Ebonyi State Exco of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the National Working Committee (NWC) has constituted a state caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party in Ebonyi state in line with the provisions of the constitution of the PDP.
“Members of the Ebonyi state caretaker committee are:
“Hon. Fred Udeogu – Chairman
“Barrister Luke Nkwegu – Secretary
“Dr. Gideon Osi – Publicity Secretary
“Hon. James Alaka – Organizing Secretary
“Mrs. Amaka Igboke – Women Leader
“Barr Mudi Irenede – Legal Adviser
“Barrister Ibeshi – Youth Leader
Gov. Wike Attacks Umahi Over Claim of Injustice to South East by PDP
“The decision of the NWC in this regard is pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
“All our leaders, members and teeming supporters in Ebonyi state and the southeast are by this guided accordingly”.
The committee was constituted barely 24 hours after the state Governor, Dave Umahi defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Umahi had anchored his defection to APC on PDP’s marginalization of the Southeast.
