The Newsmen reports that Lawan made the call at the finals of a Community Policing Awareness Polo Tournament. He expressed the hope that with community policing the security situation in the country would be further enhanced.

A total of 138 members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, have tested positive for COVID-19, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, said on Monday. Disclosing this during the briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, the NDDC Director-General, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said the safe reopening of the NYSC orientation camps across the country was successful. He stated that none of those who tested positive was allowed into the camps.

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday inaugurated a new state executive committee for the Ebonyi State chapter of the party. The event which is ongoing is being presided over by the Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Suleiman Nazif. Gunmen on Monday invaded the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in Kaduna State and abducted staff of the university. The incident took place around 1:00 pm. Two members of the family that was abducted were said to have been released following a gun battle with the police.
