UCL: Lampard Applauds Giroud After Scoring 4 Goals Against Sevilla

Olivier Giroud stole the show on Wednesday night, December 2, scoring four great goals at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium to help Chelsea ease past Sevilla 4-0 in the Champions League.

The Frenchman, who had the match in his hands, scored as early as the 8th minute to open his Champions League account in the colours of Chelsea.

There were no further goals in the first half with Chelsea taking a 1-0 lead to the dressing room against the strong Spanish side.

The 34-year-old made it 2-0 in the 64th minute before completing his hat-trick in the 74th to wow Frank Lampard who watched with delight from the sidelines.

Not done yet, Sergi Gomez pushed Giroud in the box in the 83rd minute which resulted in a Chelsea penalty which was also converted by the Frenchman.

Chelsea boss Lampard said, as cited on the club’s website: “It was an amazing performance, to score four goals at this level, Champions League level, and against a really good opponent.

“The individual quality of all of his goals – I know the last one was a penalty – but the team quality of the goals and his individual input were good to see.
