The battle to determine the winner of the Okigwe zone bye-election held last weekend has continued. The exercise has been marred with controversies after two court judgments stopped INEC from naming any individual as winner despite pronouncing APC as the party.

Recall that for the Imo North Bye-Election, INEC left many confused after they declared All Progressives Congress, the winner of the Imo North bye-election which held Saturday, 6 December, without returning a candidate.

Not minding the fact that the contest was in Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone) Imo Trumpeta gathered that the plotting for who wins, despite court rulings, has shifted to Abuja where the major political gladiators get to decide.

They recalled that while Araraume was declared APC candidate by the Federal High Court in Owerri and had his name on the ballot as official winner of the primaries, an Appeal Court quashed it before another High Court in Abuja said Frank Ibezim wasn’t qualified.
