The impressive performance of Nigeria senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers have earned them a move up in latest FIBA ranking released on Wednesday afternoon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigeria senior national team emerged victorious in their three matches played at the just concluded Afrobasketball qualifier in Kigali, Rwanda.
The team defeated South Sudan, hosts, Rwanda and Mali to top the group and finished second in the tournament net rating.
The FIBA ranking released shows that D’Tigers who was placed in 23rd in the last term moved up to 22nd in the world and first in Africa with 433.3 points.
Angola was ranked second in Africa, Tunisia in third, Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire completed Africa Top 5 respectively.
