Agba Jalingo Receives ‘Gani Fawehinmi’ Award For Impact And Integrity

Citizen Journalist, Mr. Agba Jalingo, has received the prestigious Gani Fawehinmi Award for “Impact and Integrity”, following the part he is playing to shape Nigeria as a nation.

Jalingo received the award on Thursday, December 10, 2020, which was presented to him by Honourable Justice Olubunmi Oyewole, Justice of the Court of Appeal JCA, at Radisson hotel, Ikeja Lagos.

Receiving the award, he said: “I am particularly very elated about this award because of the name behind it. Gani Fawehinmi.

“I also have very fond memories of Justice Oyewole. He jailed Bode George and Reverend King. He is a very progressive judge and one of the shining lights on the bench and I was very proud to receive the award from his hands”.

Jalingo was nominated for the award while he was standing trial in a Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State in 2019.

His only crime was exposing the Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade, for diverting N500 million meant for the State’s Microfinance Bank.
