It was a grand homecoming at the opening of Nnewi Roban superstore as the occasion was honored by worthy sons of the land on December 15th, 2020.
The event kicked off with the arrival of Igwe of Nnewi, HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu (III) by 12 PM with some members of his cabinet. Rt. Reverend Dr. Prosper Amah, Bishop of Ogbaru diocese, officially opened the event with a prayer followed by a brief sermon praying for bigger expansion in the future.
The event peaked when the Igwe led the way to the entrance of the store, which was officially blessed by the Bishop before he proceeded to cutting the ribbon, officially opening up the mall to the public. There was a cutting of the cake to mark this momentous stride.
The CEO of Roban stores, Sir Onyebuchi R. Anwatu led the first tour around the expansive mall, having the Igwe and his entourage following. He highlighted some of their outstanding packages for weddings and other special occasions where a customer can pay for a bulk supply of drinks and have them refrigerated for them before their events.

He leads the entourage through the different departments in the store, through the fashion aisle to the electronics section and other sections. He further mentioned that the famous Igbo secret ingredient Ogiri is also sold at the store, your practical one-stop place.
The official tour welcomed the influx of customers who could not hide their excitement at the opening of the store, visible at the long queue at the cashier unit and human traffic in the store.
Notable dignitaries at the opening include; Obi Afam Charles Obi, (Ogidi IV Obi of Uruagu), Obi Benneth Okafor (Obi Umudim), Obi George Onyekaba (Obi Nnewichi), Nnewi Crown Prince, Prince Obi Orizu, Rt Hon. Chukwudi Orizu, Nnewi L.G Transition Chairman, Nzuko-Ora PG, Sir Ugochukwu Udemezue, Revd. Canon Dr. Overcomer Anusiuba , Chief Ben Etiaba FCA, His Grace Most Revd. Prof. GIN Okpala JP OON (Archbishop Emeritus), Rt. Revd. Benson Chukwuwike(Bishop of Ogwu Anairi Anglican Diocese), Chief P. E. Nwosu and a host of others.
