As a follow up to its earlier directive on the suspension of new SIM registration by network operators, the Federal government had, recently, directed that all SIM cards, not synchronised with valid National Identity Number (NIN), by December 30, 2020, be deactivated.
The Federal Government has approved 173 centres and 30 state government institutions for the National Identity Number(NIN) enrollment across Nigeria. This was contained in a public notice on the website of the National Identity Management Commission titled, ‘Approved Data Capturing Agents (Digital Identity Ecosystem)’.
