Arsenal play on a Saturday. How totally bizarre. Should we delve deep into positivity from the fact that two of our three Premier League wins this season have come on Saturdays?

Indeed, the usual Europa League schedule is forgotten about for a while, and Arsenal kick off at Goodison Park at an unusually early hour, and day of the week.

Right now, Arsenal playing on a Saturday means nothing. Rain or shine, night or day, the team is still in desperately poor form. The offensive play is tiresome and disconnected, with the midfield behind them the wrong ilk of player to help make that front line tick.

Good thing that it’s only Everton on Merseyside to worry about then, right? RIGHT? Fresh off the back of impressive wins against Chelsea and Leicester, it’s Carlo Ancelotti’s side who will come into the fixture as firm favourites.

Many supporters wanted the Italian to take the reins when the managerial position became vacant…even more probably think so now.

While under normal circumstances, if little is expected of you in a fixture you can turn up with freedom of expression, such rules only apply to sides who aren’t as big as Arsenal or so utterly bereft of confidence. They need wins. Will they secure one here?
