Anaedoonline.ng had reported on Friday that the Port Harcourt-based side may miss the game against Celtic, following the delay in issuing visas to players and officials of the team by the South African Embassy.

Rivers were paired with Celtic in the Preliminary Round 2 of the Confederation Cup after defeating Equatoguinean side Futuro Kings on penalties in the Preliminary Round 1.

The club arrived in South Africa Sunday morning for Wednesday’s tie aboard an Air Peace flight. This was confirmed by Rivers United via their Twitter page.
