Maiden Nnewi Carnival Gets New Date

The first edition of Ofala Nnewi Carnival which was earlier slated to hold on Sunday, 27th December, 2020, has been rescheduled.

Anaedoonline.ng learnt that the carnival which is now billed to hold on Thursday, 31st December, 2020, will showcase the culture and heritage of Nnewi and Igbo nation.

The change of date was to give most Nnewi indigenes especially those coming back from abroad the opportunity to witness and participate in the carnival.

The carnival which will feature troupes from neighbouring states will also feature, durbar, road shows, masquerades and cultural dances.

Nnewi Carnival which is new to the town is part of activities lined up to mark the 57th Ofala and 95th birthday of the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Kenneth Onyemaeke Nnaji Orizu (III).
