Henwan on Monday directed that players of the club be placed on half-pay in the wake of their 2-0 home loss to Kwara United on match-day one of the Nigeria Professional Football League in Jos.

The defeat was Plateau United’s second in three games this season having lost to Simba SC of Tanzania in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary qualifier in Jos, before forced earning a draw in the second leg.

Henwan said the decision was taken after the players failed to justify the huge investment of the state government.

Dosu questioned the administrative competence of Henwan after his directive and urged the state governor, Simon Lalong, to dismiss the GM.

He said, “If the team failed to win in three games and the General Manager of Plateau United (Henwan) is placing players on half salary, what should the NFF do to Gernot Rohr?

“Sheffield United in the English Premier League have just two points from 15 games and their coach (Chris Wilder) hasn’t been sacked, why must these people (administrators) make a mockery of our football?”

Dosu, Atlanta ‘96 Olympics gold medallist, added, “The state government should sack the General Manager who gave that directive to place players on half salary. Where is that done in world football? Don’t these players have contracts?”

Meanwhile, head coach of the team, Abdul Maikaba said he discussed with the Henwan to rescind his decision to slash the salaries of the players.

“The General Manager actually said the players will be placed on half salaries but I discussed with him to rescind the decision.
