Super Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa has rejected an opportunity of taking his career to Mexico, as the currently clubless player has snubbed an offer from his ex-national team pal, Ikechukwu Uche’s former club, Tigres UANL, who are current CONCACAF Champions League title holders, Anaedoonline.ng reports.

Tigres reckoned on a deal that would revive Nigerian interest in their team, but the former Kano Pillars, VV Van Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England star had a different plan on his mind, despite the Mexican side affirming him as their number one target in the January transfer window.

Despite frenetic efforts employed by UANL’s scouts, a report by allnigeriasoccer.com revealed that Musa reacted coldly to the attempt to lure him over to Mexico, until the prospect of him becoming the next Nigerian star in the club eventually ended in vain.

Just as it was when he earlier turned down overtures to get him a deal in China and USA, Musa, who has been unattached since shredding his contract with Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia towards the end of last year, insisted that his priority is to get a club in Europe.

The fleet-footed attacker believes he will get a deal with a European club, preferable one in the English Premier League before this month runs its full course, hence the 28-year-old’s star’s decision to keep rejecting bids from non-European clubs.

All this is happening after Musa left Al-Nassr as a free agent in October, following a decision by the Saudi Super League outfit to block what appeared to be a lucrative offer from Semi Ajayi’s EPL club, West Bromwich Albion for him in the summer transfer window.

It was further gathered that Musa’s decision to snub the offer from Tigres was boosted by assurances from his agents that he is still drawing attention from a myriad of clubs in the EPL, Turkish Super Lig and Russian Premier League.

Nusa hopes of a deal have been further boosted with a number of leading teams reportedly intent on reaching concrete agreements with his representatives before the close of the ongoing January transfer window.
