Paris Saint-Germain’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a huge boost after the return of Neymar to the club training this week.

The former Barcelona forward was ruled out of action for a whole month after picking up an ankle injury during PSG’s 1-0 defeat to Lyon at Parc Des Princes on December 13.

He was stretched off the pitch in stoppage time of the game, however, he has rejoined his teammates ahead of their next French League meeting against Marseille this midweek as reported by Daily Mail.

Pochettino’s men are currently sitting second on the Ligue 1 table with 39 points – same as Lille while they chase Lyon with one point.

The Parisians shared a picture of the world’s most expensive player on Twitter on Monday, January 13 with the caption: ‘Look who’s back.’

However, the 28-year-old returned to training with a new manager in charge as the former Thomas Tuchel was axed last month merely hours after a 4-0 victory over Strasbourg.

The Argentine has been named his replacement after penning an 18-month contract with the option for a further season.

Neymar’s return is good news for PSG – they have been dealing with a string of injuries recently and trail league leaders Lyon by one point after 19 games.

Neymar has yet to play for PSG under coach Pochettino and it’s unclear whether he will be fit in time to face Marseille in Wednesday’s Champions Trophy.
