The Imo State taskforce on Covid-19 says its attention has been drawn to the planned reopening of schools by private school owners in the State.
Our roving reported gathered that schools in World Bank Estate Owerri reopened despite warnings from the Ministry of Education and from the Covid-19 in Taskforces Chairman Prof Maurice Iwu.
Those schools that reopened without government permission will be punished without delay, sources where told by Government Agents.
Information revealed that all the schools that reopened will be shut down.
In a press release from government, the State and Federal governments resolved that schools will resume on the 18th of January 2021.
This is to curb the surge in the spread of Covid-19 virus in the country and to ensure that the curbing of the 2nd wave of the virus before school children are allowed to resume learning in the various schools.
Following this development, no private or public school was authorized to reopen until the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma makes pronouncement on the new date for schools to resume.
The Governor also advised all Imolites to observe the protocols of Covid-19.
