Professor Gerald Udigwe of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine has emerged as Provost, College of Health Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus.
Anaedoonline.ng learnt that Prof. Gerald Udigwe was unanimously elected for the position.
Prof. Gerald Udigwe is a graduate of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He had his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

He was employed by Nnamdi Azikiwe University as Lecturer 1 in July, 2002 and passed through the ranks to become Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2012. He has served as Head of Department, Sub-Dean of Faculty of Medicine and most recently Dean Faculty of Medicine.
Professor Nneka Agbakoba has equally been re-elected as Deputy Provost of the College.
Also, Prof. Ukoha Ukoha of the Department of Anatomy was elected as Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. Out of the 35 accredited voters, Prof. Ukoha polled a total of 31 votes to emerge Dean of the Faculty.

Professor Christian Nzotta of the Department of Radiography was elected as Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology after polling a total of 25 votes.

Prof. Nzota defeated the duo of Prof. Christopher Akosile (22 votes) and Prof. Mmadubuchukwu Joseph Nwankwo (18 votes) both from the Department of Medical Rehabilitation.
