Outgoing President of the United States, Donald Trump has plans to start a new political party, called the Patriot Party, according to CNN.

This means that Trump, who will leave the White House this morning, is preparing to dump the Republican Party.

A senior aide to the outgoing President said that Trump is disgusted with Senate Republicans following the general outcome of the presidential election.

Another senior adviser confirmed the claim to the news network, but added that the idea may not be serious.

CNN also quoted another Trump’s adviser as saying that the prospect of launching a new party was “lame.”

It is, however, not clear how determined Trump is to float his own political party.

Recall that in his farewell message, Trump had vowed his movement will carry on.

The Wall Street Journal first reported Trump’s interest in a new party, saying he would call it the “patriot party.”

Trump lost the US November 3, 2020 presidential election to Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, who will be sworn-in today.
