Our correspondent who visited the fire scene reports that although no lives were lost, goods worth millions of Naira were lost in the fire incident.According to eyewitnesses, the fire which lasted about an hour was already being contained by individuals around the area before the arrival of the men of Anambra Fire Service.
One of the eyewitness who pleaded for anonymity said;”When the fire started, we thought it was a small one before it escalated, those around tried using buckets of water to put it off, luckily, a water tanker heading towards roundabout was blocked, it was the water in his tank that helped in curtailing further damage, before the arrival of the fire service, the firefighters helped in putting off the fire completely”
Shop and business owners are already counting their loses after about eight (8) shops were burnt few minutes ago at Uru in Umudim Nnewi, around uru gate, after cyber world.

At the time of writing, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, although, it is being speculated to be caused by a gas cylinder.
