A Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, the Imo state capital and presided by Justice Ringim, has struck out a case instituted by Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, seeking to be declared the authentic candidate of the APC senatorial primaries conducted by the INEC. Senator Araraume later withdrew the case but his attempt to reenlist the same case met the disapproval of Justice Ringim who saw no merit in the case hence he struck it out.

 

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Army, Hon Abdulrasak Namdas, on Tuesday, urged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to immediately draw a new and comprehensive strategy that would curb the growing insurgency and banditry in the country. Hon Namdas (APC-Adamawa) gave the charge while reacting to the resignation of the former Service Chiefs, in response to public outcry.

Traditional worshippers under the umbrella of Ondo State Assembly of Traditional Religion Worshippers on Tuesday vowed to work with the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, to curb the activities of criminal herdsmen in the state and the South West region. Speaking at a press briefing in Akure, coordinator of the traditional worshipers, Chief Adewale Oso, called for collaboration with the state government and the security agencies for the purpose of applying workable solutions to the problems of criminal herdsmen.

 

Chelsea FC has confirmed the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as manager. He replaces Frank Lampard, who was sacked following a string of bad runs in the EPL. A statement on the website of the club said Tuchel has signed an 18-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

 

Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho says he is not interested in being the head of South-West Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun. Following his attempt to force herders out of Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State, the activist was rumoured to be interested in the Amotekun top job.

Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha has revealed that talks are ongoing for reconciliation with his successor, former Governor Emeka Ihedioha. Okorocha told APC faithful, comprising factional State Working Committee (SWC) Local Government and Ward Executives in the State, that Ihedioha had approached him for reconciliation.
