Spurs fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho suffering a historic loss in his own career that left Manchester United fans gloating.

The Spurs boss suffered his first ever back-to-back home defeats in his managerial career against Thomas Tuchel’s side, following last week’s loss against Liverpool.
Spurs were on the back foot for almost the entire first half, with Chelsea taking the lead from the penalty spot through Jorginho after Eric Dier felled Timo Werner.
That was the only goal of the game despite Chelsea’s dominance, with Spurs only really threatening via a Carlos Vinicius header that dropped wide of Edouard Mendy’s post.
Spurs have now lost three games in a row including the away game at Brighton at the weekend, and now sit eighth in the table.

Aston Villa are just a point behind with a game in hand, and Mourinho’s side now trail the top four places by seven points – though they do have a game in hand on Liverpool, Leicester and Man United.

The defeat was a humbling affair for Spurs, and fans of Mourinho’s former clubs were quick to crow on social media with Spurs looking bereft of ideas with an attack missing the injured Harry Kane.
