Azubogu, in a statement through his Media Office, while condemning the barbaric destruction of the stage and facilities put in place for the sports event of Ozigbo, asked the security agencies to immediately swing into action and arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.
Azubogu who would have been part of the ‘Walk For Life’ event in Nnewi, his hometown, if not for his scheduled ongoing LGA tour, was already on his way to Awka North LGA when he received the news of the attack.The member representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, on hearing about the attack, placed a call to Mr Ozigbo, stating also in a message that such behaviour does not represent Ndi Nnewi or PDP.
The message read: “My brother Val, I just read on the media of the condemnable act which in no way represents our party or our people. I stand with you to ensure that the culprits are brought to book. Just to assure of our regards Chris Azubogu.“
