IMO: High Court Upheld Life Ban On Frank Ibezim

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in December 5 Imo North bye-election, Frank Ibezim, has vowed to challenge the Court of Appeal judgment which upheld a decision of an Abuja Federal High Court disqualifying and banning him from holding public office for life.

A Supreme Court judgement had in a separate matter affirmed Ibezim as the authentic candidate of the APC in the said election.

An Abuja federal high court had on December 4, disqualified Ibezim from the contest on the grounds that he presented false credentials to his party, the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Ibezim challenged the verdict of the trial judge but the Federal High court on Saturday upheld the judgment banning him.

In response to this development on Sunday, the Director of Media and Publicity of Ibezim’s campaign organization, Chukwunonye Irouno, said his principal was proceeding to the Supreme Court.
