The new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, has visited two spots in Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North, where gunmen attacked police patrol teams this morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen who drove in both a salon car and a Mercedes Benz 4Matic SUV, opened fire on the policemen who had been deployed on patrol in the two areas.

The hoodlums also set a police patrol van on fire.
There was no immediate motive for the attacks or the number of casualties involved as at the time of this report, but the Anambra State Police Commissioner has assured that the hoodlums would soon be captured.
