A former governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, has said that the governor of the State, Hope Uzodinma, was attacking him out of “hatred and vendetta. Okorocha, in a statement issued in Owerri the state capital on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Sam Onwuemeodo, boasted that the governor will “not win me.

 

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has denied reports that he was stopped from returning to Nigeria by authorities in the United States of America. Online reports had said the governor was stopped from returning to Nigeria because of an altercation he had with some airport officials.

A former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party Olisa Metuh has likened his experience with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as wrestling with demons. Metuh was released from Kuje prison in December 2020 after spending 10 months in the correctional facility. The former PDP spokesman was prosecuted by the EFCC along with his company Destra Investment Limited before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

 

Imo state police command has arrested and paraded a fleeing cultist who shot and killed one Tobechi Chijioke Duru during a clash at Agwa Secondary school, Agwa, in Oguta LGA, Imo State. The shooter who has been identified as 23 year-old Wisdom Uzoma has confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted according to the the police.

 

The Imo State Government has restated its resolve to recovering assets of the state allegedly diverted by a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha. The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, who responded to Okorocha’s allegation that the state Governor, Hope Uzodinma, wanted to rule by intimidation, said that Okorocha who now represents Imo West at the Senate should “differentiate between intimidation and justice”.
