With every glass ceiling stopping them from reaching for the sky being shattered, women are choosing to challenge every myth, every barrier posed against them without asking for permission to take it all.
In the past year, there are under 30 women who have distinguished themselves within and outside the country, dusting their chairs on global stages.
The twenties and thirties are the time to set career/ life goals on the mark, and these women’s tracks look promising.

Here are the top 5 Nigerian women under 30 who did remarkable things in 2020

Dr. Amarachukwu Allison

Dr. Amarachukwu Allison

Dr. Amara would go down in history as the first medical practitioner to detect Nigeria’s index Covid19 case. Her life was threatened afterward as she had to spend 5 days in quarantine. Thankfully, she tested negative and she is safe. The Ogun state government recently celebrated Allison and hailed her “singular brilliance.”

Dr. Amara, 32, is mentioned alongside the top 30 to give her the deserved recognition for being the Hero of the CoronaVirus war we collectively fought as a nation.
Dr. Amara is a doctor at Lafarge Plc, a cement manufacturer headquartered in Lagos. Dr. Amara attended the University of Port Harcourt, she furthered at UniCAF University for MBA Health Management. She has been a medical practitioner for 7years.
Born 17th March, she has bagged the following awards:
MIPAD class of 2020(Global 100 Most Influential People of African Descent under 40)
Nominated by African Silent Heroes foundation for Frontline Hero of the year
Recognized by WHO and United Nations and Ministry of Health Ogun State.

Olorunrinu Oduala (Savvy Rinu)

Bolatito Olorunrinu Oduala aka Savvy Rinu (22) is a Nigerian biochemist and activist who is recognized for the role she played at the #EndSars protest.

Ms. Oduala was one of the first to take to the streets after a video went viral of a man allegedly being killed by the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad (Sars). This erupted into what became the EndSars protest.
As a media influencer on Twitter, she used her influence to rally crowds and supporters at a camp set up outside the Lagos governor’s office on 7th October, demanding the police unit be disbanded. She, alongside other Nigerians, refused to leave the venue for three nights. She was subsequently enlisted in the resolution committee which she stepped down, saying she refuse to be part of a cover-up.

Asisat Lamina Oshoala

The 26-year-old Asisat Lamina Oshoala MON is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays for Spanish side FC Barcelona Femení in the Primera División as a forward. She was named best player and was the highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She was also named best player and second top goalscorer with the Super Falcons team who won the 2014 African Women’s Championship.
This last year she scored four goals in a 6-0 win against CD Tacon. In the world, she is the second woman to win the CAFA prize award for a record fourth time.

She has grown to become one of the best software developers in Africa, and Developer relations and community expert with an interest in Web technologies. She expands her interests to open source technology and acts as an advocate for open source development in Africa.
Ada worked as Community Relations Manager at Findaworka 2017, Interswitch as a Developer Relations in 2018. Currently, she is employed by @google as Developer, Relations Ecosystem Community Manager- a height she has been the only woman in Nigeria to attain.
