The Hisbah Commission in Kano State has arrested 42 male and female students of Bayero University for staying in the same room with students of the opposite sex.

The students were arrested in the off-campus hostels of the Bayero University specifically in the Danbare area of the Kano metropolis.

This is not the case with Hisbah entering the area to arrest suspects in connection with the scandal where some see the commission as using the opportunity to harass those in conflict with them.

According to the source, the Islamic police said that any male and female students found together in a room will be fined N20,000 each.
