The Super Eagles are ready to take on Lesotho in their last AFCON 2022 qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The Nigerian side led by Gernot Rohr have already finished Group L as winners after going unbeaten in their last five matches, winning three and drawing two.

The Crocodiles are bottom of the log after failing to record a single win in the group with three draws and two losses.

The southern African nation who have never qualified for an AFCON tournament have everything to play for when they face the three-time champions in their ancestral home ground in Lagos.

Nigeria had to dig deep into extra time to score the winner during their last outing against Benin at Port Novo.

Nigeria possible starting lineup: Okoye; Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Sanusi, Aina; Ndidi, Aribo, Onyekuru; Osimhen, Iheanacho, Chukwueze

Lesotho possible starting lineup: Moearane; Malane, Mkwanazi, Lerotholi, Masiu; Kalake, Fothoane, Mokhachane, Ngatane; Motebang, Khutlang

Meanwhile, The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi, has tested negative for COVID-19.

Anaedoonline.ng had earlier reported that officials of the Super Eagles team questioned Iwobi’s COVID-19 positive test result that forced the Everton FC man to miss Nigeria’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Benin Republic last Saturday.

He was replaced by Galatasaray’s Henry Onyekuru in the game that ended 1-0 in favor of the Eagles.

The test result also meant that the 24-year-old, who immediately went into isolation, may not feature in the team’s game against Lesotho which will be played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday (today).

However, the NFF, in a tweet on Tuesday morning, announced that further tests carried out on the player returned negative.

The Federation, however, failed to disclose if the player will feature in today’s game against Lesotho or not.
