The killings that took place at Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State by Fulani Herdsmen, that saw the death of over 17 villagers, has caused pandemonium in the whole of the Southeast region of the country. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has expressed bitterness over the gruesome murder of the villagers by Fulani herdsmen.

The former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, said there was no truth in the claim that he demanded N7bn for installing the state governor, Willie Obiano. He wondered how he could have left N75bn for the governor and turn around to ask him to give him N7bn out of it. The former governor said since he left office about seven years ago, he has not received anything from the state government as an entitlement or gift.

Ahead of the Primary election for the November election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the Anambra State governorship election. National Organising Secretary, retired Col. Austin Akobundu, made this known in a statement on Wednesday. The forms were sold at N21million – N1million for expression of interest and N20million for nomination form.

The member representing Nnewi North constituency and a governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Honourable Nonso Smart Okafor has expressed confidence that his chances at the primary election, coming up in a few months’ time, are high because power comes from God.

The factional Chairman of the Imo State All Progressives Congress APC, Mr. Dan Nwafor, took a swipe at the Federal House of Representatives member representing Okigwe South, and former Imo Commissioner For Finance, Chike Okafor, accusing him of betraying former governor of Imo State, and Senator representing Orlu Zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha, as well as selling out the APC to the PDP.
