Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman is getting ready to offload nine players when the summer transfer window opens. The Dutchman was named the Catalans boss last August and he immediately got rid of Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, and one other star he considered surplus to requirement.

The 1x1 of the Barcelona players: their current situation and their future

Sources claim the 58-year-old is still not satisfied with his current and will further trim down to give space for new additions at the end of this season.

After his arrival last year, Koeman was said to have pointed to the players he wants the club to sign but they could not due to the financial crisis caused by deadly COVID-19.

The trio of Memphis Depay, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Eric Garcia are top on the manager’s wishlist but could not get any of them immediately due to cash crunch. Barca have also been linked with a move for out-of-contract Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero who shares the national team dressing room with Lionel Messi in their country.

The Camp Nou outfit has suffered terrible losses in recent times mostly in the Champions League while they fail to win any silverware last term.

Although the Blaugrana have crashed out of the Champions League, they are just one point behind Atletico Madrid on the La Liga table after 29 games this campaign. Meanwhile, here’s the list of nine players up for sale this summer.

Philippe Coutinho Martin Braithwaite Samuel Umtiti Ousmane Dembele? Miralem Pjanic Sergi Roberto Junior Firpo Carles Alena / Matheus Fernandes

The last two stars are fringe men with no futures at Barcelona. Alena has been out on loan at Getafe this season and both clubs have already held discussions over completing a permanent deal in the summer.

Meanwhile, Fernandes has stuck around under Koeman’s watch but has played just once – as a 73rd-minute substitute against Dynamo Kyiv – while Ilaix Moriba seems to have overtaken him in the pecking order.
