Cultists, Armed Robbery Syndicates Bursted In Anambra, Arms Recovered

Anambra State Police Command through the anti-cult squad attached to them have busted the den of cultist and armed robbery gang in Amikwo Village Awka and arrested six suspects following the credible intelligence

According to a press release by Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the suspects are Ejinaka Chukwujekwu aged 17years, Emeka Nwanna aged 18years, Micheal Ozuah 20years, Chukwuma Obu 22years, Onyemaechi Chijoke 25years and Ifeanyi Ebeze 25years.

The statement said exhibits recovered from the suspects include two locally Made Pistols and eight live cartridges.

It explained that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were actively involved in the recent shooting incident at about 8:am, on 12th April 2021, that resulted to the death of one yet unidentified young man along Ukwuoji , Awka Anambra State.

According to the release, the suspects equally confessed to be members of Black Axe Confranternity and will be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.

It added that, the Commissioner of Police CP Monday Kuryas, thanked “Ndi Anambra” for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State and also called on all stakeholders to partner with the Police to address the security issues associated with cultism among the youths.
