It’s now a worldwide knowledge that Apga is in disarray over who becomes the gubernatorial flag bearer. Whilst Obiano is being pressured by Aguleri cabal led by Chinedu Obidigwe, to hand the flag to Soludo whom he (Chinedu Obidigwe) believes will make him his deputy, however, first Lady is not so comfortable with Soludo.
The first lady is believed to be for Chukwuma Umeoji. It is also believed that the first lady is not alone in her support for Chukwuma Umeoji as information has it it that majority of the people in government are with her on this.

Another faction, which has most of the state house of assembly members, is believed to be strongly rooting for one of their colleagues Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor. One of their reasons for the opposition of the Soludo project founded on party loyalty. They have the fear that Soludo’s romance with APC is such a thing that can not be overlooked as he is capable of defecting. This third faction has a strong support base in the APGA working committee and loyal party men.

Furthermore, the members of Obiano’s state executive council are another group rearing their stubborn heads. They feel Soludo must be the scapegoat in their grievance against Obiano. The commissioners feel undermined by the governor and they’re out to prove their mettle by all means.

As the whole drama unfolds, feelers have it that another silent war is raging between Victor Umeh and his successor Victor Oye. They both have an interest in getting the APGA ticket for Anambra Central Senatorial election. And they’re aware that any decision they make in this critical period will determine a lot for them when the next elections arrive.

Chief Victor Umeh has decided to keep mum about his support for any candidate to play safe. On the other hand, Chief Victor Oye has gone ahead to broker an agreement with Soludo and the Aguleri cabal led by Chinedu Obidigwe for his Senatorial ambition in 2023.
