Reports reaching Anaedoonline.ng affirms that famous Facebook influencer, Mercy Cynthia Ginakachukwu who is popularly known as Ada Jesus is dead. She died around 11 am today, Wednesday, 21st April 2021, at Zenith Hospital, Abuja, where she is being treated for a kidney-related ailment.

An insider in the hospital, who pleaded anonymity as he wasn’t authorized to make this public, relayed this news to our correspondent.

Recall that Ada Jesus had been in the news lately. She and popular Onitsha Pastor Odumeje (Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, who is the Spiritual Director of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry World Miracle Center, alias Land of Freedom and actress) and Rita Edochie were in a public dispute over comments attributed to her which suggested that Odumeje carried out fake miracles with the aid of the actress.

When Ada Jesus’ ailment became public many, on Social media, pointed out that she must be suffering from a curse from accusing Odumeje falsely. Ada Jesus and her family seemed to believe this for they were in Odumeje’s church o plead for forgiveness.

In a video made available to the public by Odumeje’s church’s social media handles, Odumeje was seen fuming and making comments in the direction of withholding his forgiveness. He claimed he had never had any dealings with Ada Jesus thus was surprised that she would tell such lies against him and his ministry.

Odumeje said that he suffered untold public damage and that she must bring the people who conspired with her to tell these lies before he would forgive her. Rita Edochie was seen in the background also pointing rebuking fingers at Ada Jesus.

There was an outrage on social media over Odumeje and Edochie playing God and refusing to forgive a girl who was obviously in pain and remorseful. Rita Edochie later made a video saying that she has forgiven Ada Jesus. Pastor Odumeje later came out to forgive her and gave them a gift of one million naira.

The family declined this gift and said they were only after his forgiveness.

The death of Ada Jesus has brought additional searchlight on the activities of Odumeje in particular and men of God who make a show of healings and miracles in general. There would also be some searching looks at Ada Jesus’ family who spent previous time traveling around with Ada Jesus and seeking forgiveness from a man while their daughter needed urgent medical attention.

Born in February 1998, Ada Jesus who hails from Orlu, Imo State, was 23 when she died. Ada was from a humble background as she once did house cleaning and other odd jobs in order to survive. Igbo comedy came to her rescue and with a massive following online, she might have believed she was made and this was the time to enjoy the fruits of her hustles.

Then she fell sick and ended up dead.

This is Nigeria and this story and the fall-out (if any) might just be counted as just one life lost and another controversy in the name of Odumeje. This is not the first time that Pastor Odumeje has toyed with someone’s life. In May 2020, he prophesied death to a young lady, claiming she would die on her birthday.

Before then, Odumeje had, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, claimed that “there is no Conoravirus in Nigeria”. Nigerians on social media called him out but there is no way to measure the extent to which his comment made his congregation or the random man in the street lower their guard because there was no coronavirus in the country.

Ada Jesus is a mother of one as she used to be married to a certain Kingsley Chuks. They were said to have got married in April 2019 before breaking up over accusations of infidelity.
