In recent weeks, Police stations in the South East and some states in the South-South have been attacked by gunmen.

The latest incident took place on Monday, April 19 as unidentified hoodlums razed the zone 13 police headquarters in Ukpo, Anambra state.

However, yesterday, movement of vehicles and passengers under tension along the Enugu Abakaliki expressway were halted following the heavy shooting at the Ezilo axis of the highway by gunmen.

Why Gunmen Are Killing Security Operatives Across South East

It was not immediately clear those responsible for the shootings. ANAEDOONLINE had reported two persons were killed in a renewed boundary dispute between the Exilic community and the neighboring Iyionu community.

Both communities are in the Ishielu local government area of the state.

It could not be immediately established if the shooting is connected with the dispute.
