Former Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, number 2, Uche Mefor has accused Nnamdi Kanu of selling out to the Nigerian authorities and negotiating with FG as we report this. Uche Okafor-Mefor made this known when he sat down with BBC Igbo in a video interview released today, Sunday 16th May 2021.

Mefor started by affirming the fact that Nnamdi Kanu is a master in falsely accusing others of working with Nigerian politicians to betray the Biafran mandate. But in fact, Mefor claims, Nnamdi Kanu is the one working with the government in Abuja.

“No amount of hired hands to launder your image will change the fact that you falsely accuse people of working with Nigerian politicians,” Uche Mefor says, adding that Nnamdi Kanu is the one neck-deep into the act of selling out.

The former IPOB big wig went on to give details of how Nnamdi Kanu has soiled his hands with FG: “There was a permission from the presidency to meet you and the deal was to train IPOB members.”

Nnamdi Kanu was aware that these emissaries were from the presidency, Mefor insists, yet he met with them to train IPOB, which the Federal Government has declared a terrorist group. This would only make sense if “training IPOB” was the code name for another target, namely getting Nnamdi Kanu to abandon or derail the push for Biafra.

The moment IPOB issued a sit-at-home order

This is not the first time Nnamdi Kanu is being accused of selling out. After he reappeared in late 2018, in Israel, many accused him of working with the APC government to affect voter turnout in the Southeast, a stronghold of the opposition PDP.

Nnamdi Kanu’s singular answer for people who accuse him of selling out is that every kobo the Federal Government of Nigeria offers him is money gotten from crude oil belonging to Biafraland, and that he would connect whatever money offered him and still refuse to work for them.

Note, also, that Uche Okafor-Mefor’s fallout with Nnamdi Kanu makes him an unreliable witness for issues concerning Nnamdi Kanu. He may have spoken out against Nnamdi Kanu out of malice. A more neutral person accusing Nnamdi Kanu of selling out would make more case for believability.

At the time of reporting this, Nnamdi Kanu is yet to respond to this allegation. We would keep a close eye on this one as we are certain you haven’t heard the last of this.
