The Nigeria Labour Congress’s National President in the person of Ayuba Wabba has dared and challenged Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to arrest him over the state’s ongoing workers’ strike.

El Rufai proclaimed Wabba and other labor leaders wanted economic sabotage, Following the strike.

The state’s NLC had gone on strike to protest mass worker disengagement and other perceived anti-labor measures by the government.

“Let him come and arrest me,” Wabba told newsmen while leading a protest in response to the call for his arrest. It has nothing to do with me.”

“We are here and waiting for them,” he declared.

Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, had declared Wabba and other union leaders wanted in connection with the state’s workers’ strike.

Wabba had said at the start of the action on Monday that it would go on until the state government addressed the workers’ grievances.

Meanwhile, In the tension and fear of the insecurity in the country, Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State has appealed to residents of the state to take up arms and defend themselves against invaders.

On Monday, While speaking to journalists, The governor made the call at Oyo State where he attended the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ meeting.

Ortom, while advising people to protect their communities, stated that they should do all it takes to safeguard their lives and properties even if it meant taking up weapons.

“I have told my people to defend themselves. You can’t sit down in your house for people to come from somewhere and kill you.

“If you don’t have weapons required by the law, go to your neighbor and get one. Everybody in Benue, both men and women should defend themselves,” he said.
