The past 24 hours have recorded interesting happenings both on the local, state, national, and international scene. 

The Nigeria Police Force and other security operatives are set for the sit-at-home order issued by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to mark the anniversary of the Biafra Republic Remembrance Day. The Biafra Republic Remembrance Day is celebrated on the 30th of May, and was expected to hold today but was shifted to Monday, May 31 to allow Christians to attend church services.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the killing of a former political aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak. Many Reactions has greeted the unholy murder of Gulak by unknown gunmen in Owerri, Imo State on Saturday. A viral video on social media and on mainstream media showed the politician lying in the pool of his blood.

In compliance with the directives of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for immediate replacement of the Innoson patrol van that was made away with by hoodlums at Iwollo Police Division, Ezeagu Local Government Area, on Tuesday, among other interventions, the Enugu State Government has taken delivery of the brand new vehicle it purchased from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company.

President Muhammadu Buhari has been declared the winner of the 2021 Great Builder Super Prize for Trophée Babacar Ndiaye. President Buhari takes over from Abdel Fattah al-Sissi of Egypt, who won the 2020 prize. Nigeria’s president was named the winner during the inaugural Africa Road Builders Conference held on March 31 in Cairo, Egypt.

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Saturday attacked the Criminal Investigation Department located at Umuagu, Umuahia in Abia State. It was reported that the gunmen were about fifty in number and were half-naked. Some of the armed men were seen hanging live cock around their neck while many of them are armed with AK47 rifles.
