The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the killing of a former political aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak.

Many Reactions has greeted the unholy murder of Gulak by unknown gunmen in Owerri, Imo State on Saturday. A viral video on social media and on mainstream media showed the politician lying in the pool of his blood.

Though no group has claimed the killing of Gulak, unconfirmed assertions alleged he was killed by men of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Reacting to Gulak’s murder, President Muhammadu Buhari had assured that all resources will be deployed to ensure that the killers are brought to justice.

He also accused people who want to undermine the unity and territorial integrity of Nigeria for killing the former presidential aide.

The statement reads: “Let me warn that nobody or group of people who engages in such despicable acts should expect to go free. We’ll deploy all resources at our disposal to ensure that such callous and criminal elements are brought to justice – President Muhammadu Buhari on the heinous murder of Ahmed Gulak.“

But reacting in a post on his Twitter page on Monday, Nnamdi Kanu said it was pathetic to blame those who want the country to break up for the murder of Gulak.

He wondered how the presidency could have come to that conclusion barely 24 hours after the incident.

Nnamdi Kanu wrote: “The pathetic @NGRPresident suggests that #Gulak was killed by ‘people who are determined to undermine the unity & territorial integrity of Nigeria’.

How did this Presidency determine in only hours that this murder is related to the TERRITORIAL integrity of Nigeria? #Zoo.”
