Transport Companies In Anambra And Their Routes

Anambra State is one of the with motorable road networks at least when compared with its sister-states in the Southeast. But it is the commercial nature of the state and the gateway status of Onitsha that make Anambra State the transportation hub of the entire eastern region which includes a large chunk of South-south states. Here are some of the transport companies that make moving intra- state and inter-state in Anambra in no particular order of significance or chronology.

The Anambra State-owned transport company – Tracas positioned itself to be the most serene & safe transportation company in the state that transcends across regional borders in the movement of people, goods, and services at an affordable rate. It has the following routes: Anambra (Nnewi, Ekwulobia, Awka, Onitsha main and north, Otuocha, Awkuzu, Oko, Uli, Amawbia), Enugu, Imo, Aba, Umuahia, Ebonyi, and Lagos(Festac, Cele, Ejibo). It is owned and managed by the Anambra State government. 

GUO Transport


GUO is one of the famous transport companies in Anambra. It is one of the earliest commuters to and from Lagos in the late 80s. It was founded in 1980 as a division of G. U. Okeke & Sons Ltd.

To date it is a household name in the transportation industry and one of the largest providers of intercity and interstate transportation, serving more than 200 destinations across Nigeria and West Africa with a modern, environmentally-friendly fleet.

Imo Transport Company is a state-owned transport company that spreads its tentacles quite wide. It is a state-owned transport company with routes in Portharcourt Rivers state, Imo state, Lagos, Enugu, Calabar, Abuja, Ibadan, Awka, Benin.

Onitsha South Mass Transit


With its headquarters in Onitsha Anambra state, you are likely to see this blue and white bus in many parts of Nigeria. Its buses have editions like Onitsha south plus, Onitsha south sprinter, Onitsha south mayor edition, Onitsha south majestic, Onitsha south governor’s edition, Onitsha south senator’s edition, First Upper edition, Super executive edition, Ezege edition.

This transport company is known for its inter-Anambra travels especially Nnewi to Awka and Nnewi to Enugu. Its terminal in Nnewi is it’s headquarters and links to its 2 terminals in Awka. Eastern mass has 2 routes- Nnewi to Awka

Orizu motors

Owned and managed by the Chiedu Orizu of the Nwafor Orizu family. Orizu motors is a transport company of Nnewi origin. It moves from Nnewi to Lagos and Abuja everyday. Commuters say it is a user-friendly transport system.

Star sunny motors is a new entrant into the transportation sector in Anambra, it is one of the transport companies in Anambra that its growth was exponential.
