Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria, has pointed out that Nigeria’s dependence on crude oil is not good for the economy.

On Thursday, He spoke at the Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers (i-FAIR) program.

Osinbajo was represented by Ogbonnaya Onu, the minister of science and technology.

Speaking at the event, Osinbajo stated that the federal government will continue to play its role in the successful accomplishment of major innovation goals in the country.

“For too long, we have allowed our economy to depend on conditions driven by oil and we have seen that it is not good for our economy,” NAN quoted him as saying.

“Our nation is a great nation, we can do far better than what we are doing, we have an abundance of natural resources and some of the most intelligent people in the world.
