The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has stated that many Nigerians will be hurt by the decision of the federal government to suspend the operations of Twitter in the country.
This is as he added that the action of the Nigerian government will have no effect on Twitter as an organization or Jack who is the founder of the social media platform.
The IPOB leader argued that many Nigerians, particularly the youths will be negatively affected by the government’s action.

He stated this after the federal government on Friday banned the operations and activities of Twitter in Nigeria.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in a statement said the government was forced to act because of “the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence”.
Earlier, Naija News recalls Twitter had deleted a tweet and then a video from the account of President Muhammadu Buhari which the social media giant said violated its rules.
Reacting to the action taken by the federal government barely 24 hours after Twitter deletaed the President’s tweet, Kanu wrote: “Suspending @Twitter can’t hurt @jack but will surely hurt millions of Nigerians, (mostly the YOUTH) that are on Twitter. Nigerian public & private sectors will also be hurt.”

Twitter’s Senior Policy Communications Manager for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Sarah Hart, in a statement on Friday said the company is investigating the development.
“The announcement made by the Nigerian Government that they have suspended Twitter’s operations in Nigeria is deeply concerning.
“We’re investigating and will provide updates when we know more,” the statement said.
