The agitators for self-determination of Yoruba Nation on Thursday disclosed they will hold ‘peaceful rallies’ across the Southwest region on Saturday, June 12.

The statement was made by self-styled activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemi otherwise known as Sunday Igboho, on Thursday.

Recall that the pro-Yoruba nation protesters have held rallies across southwest states including Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, and Ondo.

This is just as President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Sunday Asefon, declared that NANs will hold ist National Day of Peaceful Protest on June 12 to put pressure on the government to act decisively towards addressing insecurity.

In the same vein, a former presidential aspirant and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has also called for a nationwide June 12 protest against the President Buhari-led administration.

In a live video aired on Wednesday night by his spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, Igboho called on southwest Governors to cooperate with the peaceful protesters during the exercise.

“The Yoruba Nation rally will go ahead in every part of Yoruba land and the rest of the country where it will hold.

“Red alarm will begin on Friday. People should stock up food Items from Friday night. We are not backing down this weekend; we are ready to take back what belongs to us.”

He also enjoined agitators to ‘fast’ on the eve of the protest.
