The former Chairman of Nigerian Police Service Commission Chief Simon Okeke OFR Ochendo Amichi, has slammed the Nigerian President, President Mohammadu Buhari for threatening to deal with Biafrans agitators in the language they will understand and referring to the Igbos as a dot in a circle.

He made this clear during an interactive session with a group of Journalists from selected Media Houses at his AKARTA LODGE, Amichi Nnewi South LGA Anambra State yesterday.

In his words: “The bitterness of the civil war is still being haboured by the No.1 Citizen of this country. And one starts wondering. After all, he is not the first person that took part in the war that has ruled the country.

We have had IBB, Abacha, Abubakar, Obasanjo and others, but none of them ever made that type of disturbing statement. He was talking as if speaking to an enemy that is not part of the country. Saying that he will deal with them in a language they will understand and referring to them as a dot in a circle.

If there is any way he can apologize,he should be persuaded to do so and say he is very sorry and that he was not in his best mood when he made that statement. Having made this type of statement, I think this is a serious warning to the people he is referring to, especially the youths.

Many people are saying that another genocide is being conceived. That is the impression people are getting through many Social Media Platforms. That a second genocide is on the way and that he has given orders to the Police and the Army to be ruthless. What I can say now is that those he is referring to should be on their guards.

We should not see the kind of things we saw during the civil war repeat itself of which I was a Participant. I participated actively in the civil war.I don’t want to see the kind of things I saw during the civil war.

Speaking on the Security in the country, especially as it relates to Anambra State, he described it as worrisome, revealing that the South East has been the safest Zone in the country, especially Anambra State. He remarked that he has been commending the Governor,Chief Obiano for making Anambra State so free and peaceful.

But, according to him, for quite sometime now, this peace and serenity has been disturbed and if there is any peace, it is the peace of the graveyard. He explained thus:”Nothing happens without a cause.

The EndSARS broke down the peace that we had in Anambra State as all kinds of people both known and unknown, joined the demonstration and capped it up by looting of properties, particularly Government properties. Police Stations were burnt down and firearms looted and Police vehicles set ablaze.

In Amichi here, they managed to hide some of the Police vehicles at the house of the Head of Vigilante Group, but the information leaked and they went to the man’s house and burnt all the vehicles and even burnt the man’s house including his Boys Quarters. In Osumeyi they killed the DPO and an Inspector who tried to resist them.

They burnt down Police Stations at Nnewi, Nnobi, Ojoto, Obosi and other places. It was a terrible thing. Since then, things have never been the same. This is what uprooted the peace we used to enjoy in this state, but I know there will be a turnaround sooner than later.”

” On Ebubeagu, he described it as dead on arrival wondering how one could set up a Security Outfit without arms and ammunitions with which to fight.
