The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has discovered hundreds of suspected alien Fulani herdsmen at Bode Saadu in Moro Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in a statement in Ilorin, the state capital, on Thursday, said that the suspected alien herdsmen were trying to settle in the ancient town.
He said “On Tuesday, June 29,2021, our men in Bode Saadu, who were on routine surveillance, discovered the suspected alien herdsmen at Bode Saadu praying ground who were trying to set up a settlement in the area.
“They were immediately rounded up by officers of the NSCDC in Moro Division and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further profiling and background check,” he added.
The state Commandant of the corps, Iskil Ayinla Makinde, has appealed to citizens of the state to always notify security agencies of strange faces and people of questionable character in their localities.
Meanwhile, operatives of the defence corps have intercepted diverted adulterated petroleum products being transported inside 50 Jerry cans along Kosubosu road in Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the command said, “Luck ran out of the suspected vandals who were transporting the products in a blue coloured Toyota Starlet vehicle with registration number AW473 TYW, as they ran into the NSCDC men on a routine patrol at Kosubosu.

“The vehicle and the petroleum products have been recovered and taken to the state command’s headquarters in Ilorin, the state capital,” he stated.
