Igbokwe Royal Family of Nnewi is currently divided over the news that the family has disowned their son Chief Joe Igbokwe, who has been accused of being a saboteur by some of his family members.

In a press release by Prince Gabriel Chidolue Igbokwe, who is the Lagos State Branch Chairman of Igbokwe Family Meeting, he described the statement credited by Johnny Madukaejika Oforjebeogu Igbokwe who is a resident in Canada, that Joe Igbokwe has been disowned by Igbokwe Family as false.

According to him, Igbokwe Royal family numbering over one thousand under the leadership of their Obi, Prince Ezenwa Igbokwe, National Chairman, Prince Sylvanus Igbokwe, and Prince Gabriel Igbokwe Lagos Branch Chairman never sat or agreed to the statement issued by Johnny Igbokwe.

Other parts of the press release read;

“We wish to state that as a very plural family in beliefs, religion, and political persuasions, that we do not indulge in politics as a family. That any views posted by Johnny or Joe is entirely their personal views”

“Also Joe’s views in his writings are his personal views, we, therefore, warn our brothers and sisters to desist from dragging our family into the murky waters of politics”

“Everybody is entitled to their views and we respect all shades of options, we only counsel when the need arises”

It will be recalled that Anaedoonline.ng, last week, reported that Chief Joe Igbokwe, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Drainage and Water Resources, was described as a saboteur by his family members.

In a press release made available to Anaedoonline.ng and signed by Johnny Madukaejiaka Oforjebeogu Igbokwe, the Igbokwe Royal Family of Nnewi condemned the unpatriotic, Igbo-hating and self-serving political actions of Joe Igbokwe, who was recently seen celebrating the arrest of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
