President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity in the country, stating that his government will deploy everything within its powers to end insecurity in Nigeria.

Buhari stated this on Tuesday during a dinner with members of the national assembly in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by the 109 senators and 360 members of the house of representatives.

Buhari said, “insecurity, manifesting as insurgencies, banditry, kidnapping and urban crime of all sorts is the single most difficult challenge we face today.”

He stated available resources will be deployed to ensure that perpetrators of criminal activities are brought to book.

“Some of the people who perpetrate these various manifestations of insecurity do so for profit, others, in the name of discredited ideologies,” he said.

“Whatever their motivations may be, their actions are an existential threat to our country.

“In the circumstances, we must do everything within our power, without consideration of distractions, to put an end to their activities and bring them to book.
