Former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and his wife, Nneoma Okorocha have been honoured with a chieftaincy title by the Daura Emirate. Anaedoonline.ng reports that Okorocha was turbaned with the title of the Magan Alheri Hausa (the great giver to the Hausa people) in recognition of his contributions to the education of indigent children in the North.

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has sealed a college belonging to a former Governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha. Anaedoonline.ng reports that officials of the state government sealed the college for converting the lands of the staff quarters of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) to his college.

The State Security Service (SSS) has arrested, detained and reportedly tortured three Israeli filmmakers over allegations that they supported the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Times of Israel reported that a Zionist activist, Rudy Rochman, filmmaker Noam Leibman and French-Israeli Journalist E. David Benaym were arrested last week when they visited Ogidi village, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State to shoot a documentary.

Former Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani has supported calls by the Southern States for the rotation of power. Senator Sani who wrote on his Facebook wall on Tuesday said, Southern states have the legitimate and moral rights to demand the presidency.

The House of Representatives has passed for second reading, a bill seeking to encourage local production of arms and ammunition, while proposing stricter conditions for the issuance of licences to civilians. The legislation is titled, ‘A Bill for an Act to Amend the Firearms Act, Cap. F28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 to Increase the Fines, Provide for Strict Prison Terms and Licensing Fees; and for Related Matters (HBs.101, 1204, 101).’
