REVEALED: Abba Kyari Allegedly Extorted N41 Million From Businessman

Fresh information has emerged on the activities of disgraced deputy commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari and his activities as head of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT.

It will be recalled that Kyari, Nigeria’s most decorated Cop, has been in hot water for the past few days after the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI indicted him over his involvement with the fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abass a.k.a Hushpuppi.

US court documents revealed that Kyari was a ‘muscle for hire’ to hushpuppi revealing that the police officer received bribes and ran errands for the notorious fraudster. Kyari arrested one Chibuzor Vincent on Hushpuppi’s order over a disagreement. Kyari kept Vincent in detention for 5 weeks and received a sun of N8 million naira from Hushpuppi for the job.

However, a Lagos Businessman, Afeez Mojeed has accused Kyari of extorting N41 million from him after raiding his hom in 2014. Mojeed, was home with his pregnant wife, an 18 month-old son, and mother-in-law, when Kyari and members of the now-disbanded SARS barged into his house. They ransacked his house, took N280,000 and N50,000 from his wardrobe and car, seized his vehicle, and arrested him.

While in detention for 14 days, Mr Kyari and his team members extorted Mr Mojeed of N41 million. They forced him to sign three bank cheques worth N150,000 each; making a total of N450,000; obtained a password to his bank card and withdrew another N395,000, and took him to another of his bank and made him forcefully transfer N41 million and N800,000 from his corporate account into the account of one Obinna Edward.

Mojeed is seeking justice and has since been trying to recover his money back but all to no avail.
