Kanunta Kanu, the younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), says the detained separatist ‘always asked for help in stopping the violence against his people’.

Kanu made this known on Tuesday via his known Facebook page.

In Nigeria’s southeast region, there is heightened danger and violence, with security operatives targeted as well as a civilians being victims.

While Nigerian security forces have continually pointed accusatory finger at outlawed IPOB, Kanunta Kanu believes it is an attempt by the apex government to harm IPOB’s international reputation.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of BIAFRAN movement known as IPOB, has always asked for help in stopping the violence against BIAFRANS, through the international communities and he knew resorting to violence was not the solution.” Kanu wrote.

“BIAFRANS should be very careful because, Nigerian authorities are going down everyday, and they want to ternish the good name of IPOB internationally and we shouldn’t allow that to happen.

“This argument about BIAFRA we have won already. Biafra is our only chance. ALL HAIL BIAFRA.”
