The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would sanction the 100 members who sued the party over the continued stay in office of members of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

Anaedoonline.ng had reported that no fewer than 100 aggrieved APC members in Benue State have dragged the party and its Caretaker Committee Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, before the Federal High Court in Abuja over the continued stay in office of members of the committee.

Other defendants in the suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/938/2021, are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and others.

He stated that punishment for such a member will start from the ward and go to the local government and states before coming to the national secretariat.

Speaking further, Obahiagbon denied allegations that the Buni-led committee would remain in office till June 2022, adding that the committee is only interested in serving out its term.

The former lawmaker also disclosed that the APC has taken over the ownership of the building housing the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Obahiagbon stated that the building which was on lease before now belonged to the party, saying that the party has spent N2.5 billion for the purchase of the building.

He disclosed that the former National Executive Council (NEC) of the party had initially paid N115million for the building and the caretaker committee has concluded payment of the outstanding balance.
